Opening with link-up to live music by Los Chinganeros playing in the bosquemuseo (Forest Museum) on the hill Cerró Calán, Santiago de Chile. The artists and curators will be present.
Together with the artists whose works are shown in the exhibition, Elisa Balmaceda, Claudia González, Barbara Marcel, and the sound artist Rodrigo Ríos Zunino, we will be taking an exploratory walk, perceiving our environment anew by means of signals and signs from home-made antennae and sensors. The walk will also be a live radio show. We invite all participants to bring their mobile telephones and a headset. Starting and ending at ifa Gallery Stuttgart. German, English, Spanish.
We invite you to a cup of tea and an informal meeting with the artists, to listen to the healing powers of brewed-up blossoms, leaves and other parts of plants.
In an experimental radio setup we will link up with the artists’ cooperation partners with whom the works in the exhibition were made: with women from the Zona de Sacrificio Quintero-Puchuncaví, from Andes Residencia and from Radio Humedales. We will learn more about the interconnectedness of struggles for intact and habitable eco-systems, and about basic rights and gender equality, as well as access to clean water. We will discuss practices that demonstrate forms of shared living beyond excessive extractivism and material accumulation.
